Why Choose Us

Product Description

  • Ultra-compact tact switch designed for industrial HMI and field devices. 2×3 mm footprint, short travel for fast actuation, crisp tactile feedback, supports high-temperature reflow and long-life operation.
  • High-temperature materials and stable dome spring structure deliver consistent feel and contact reliability under vibration, temperature swings, and frequent use.

Key selling points

  • Fast actuation, crisp tactile feel: short travel with clear detent reduces mis-operations and improves keying efficiency.
  • Industrial-grade durability: up to 1,000,000 electrical cycles depending on operating force and conditions; ideal for high-frequency use.
  • Wide temperature and environmental resilience: operating -40 to 85°C (optional -40 to 105°C). Optional top-sealed dust/water protection.
  • Tiny footprint: 2×3 mm for high-density PCBs and slim panels.
  • Flexible configurations: multiple operating forces, heights, terminal styles (SMD/TH), surface plating, and sealing levels.
  • Mass-production friendly: SMT reflow compatible; tape-and-reel supply for automated pick-and-place.

Typical applications

  • Industrial control panels, PLC/drive front keys, field instruments and sensor setup keys
  • Portable calibrators, test and measurement equipment, data loggers
  • Robot end-effectors, HMI modules, AGV/logistics control keys
  • Medical and laboratory device function keys (not for life-support)
  • Aerospace/rail auxiliary equipment setup keys (project compliance available on request)

Electrical specifications (typical)

  • Switch type: SPST-NO (momentary, normally open)
  • Rated load: 12 VDC, 50 mA (other ratings evaluable)
  • Contact resistance: ≤100 mΩ initial, controlled over life
  • Insulation resistance: ≥100 MΩ at 100 VDC
  • Dielectric strength: 250 VAC, 1 minute, no breakdown
  • Bounce time: ≤10 ms (varies with structure and OF)
  • EMC note: recommend debounce plus ESD protection (TVS/RC) at the circuit front-end

Mechanical specifications (typical/options)

  • Footprint: approx. 2.0 × 3.0 mm (overall height varies by option)
  • Overall height options: 0.9 mm, 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm (keycap or overlay adds height)
  • Travel: 0.2 ± 0.1 mm with defined tactile snap
  • Operating force (OF) options: 150 gf, 220 gf, 300 gf
  • Return force: ≥30% of OF
  • Life: 300k to 1,000k cycles (depends on OF, environment, actuation method)
  • Protection: standard IP40; optional top-sealed IP67 (silicone membrane)

Construction and materials

  • Cover/body: high-temperature LCP or PA46 engineering plastic (reflow capable)
  • Dome spring: stainless steel or phosphor bronze, silver or gold plated for reliable conductivity
  • Terminals: copper alloy, tin plated (SMD or through-hole)
  • Seal: silicone membrane for IP67 versions
  • Optional surface treatments for anti-fingerprint/corrosion resistance in harsh environments

Dimensions and mounting

  • Mounting styles: SMT (surface-mount) or TH (through-hole for higher mechanical robustness)
  • Recommended land pattern: see datasheet or request PCB footprint library (Gerber/ECAD)
  • Tape-and-reel supply: 7" or 13" reels with clear orientation marks; suitable for automated placement
  • Compatible with keycaps, silicone keypads, or membrane panels for enhanced feel and sealing

Soldering and assembly guidelines

  • Reflow soldering: peak ≤260°C for ≤10 s; preheat 150–180°C for 60–120 s; recommend ≤2 reflow cycles
  • Hand soldering: 350°C, ≤3 s per pin; avoid pressing on the body or prolonged high heat
  • Cleaning: non-sealed versions not recommended for immersion/ultrasonic cleaning; sealed versions allow limited cleaning; avoid aggressive solvents
  • Mechanical assembly: avoid strong side loads and sustained high-pressure actuation; ensure even force transfer from panel mechanisms

Reliability and environmental tests (reference)

  • Temperature cycling: -40 to 85°C passed typical cycling tests
  • Vibration: 10–55 Hz, 1.5 mm amplitude, 2 hours without functional abnormality (typical)
  • Shock: 100 G, 6 ms, no structural damage (optional validation)
  • Salt spray/corrosion: project-based testing and material upgrades available

Compliance and certifications

  • RoHS and REACH compliant; halogen-free option
  • Manufacturing system: ISO 9001 certified (factory certificates available)
  • Can support third-party project-specific testing and documentation upon request

FAQ

  • Can it be actuated from the side? Recommend vertical actuation. For side presses, use a side-actuated design or add a guiding mechanism.
  • How can we extend life? Choose a higher OF, optimize the force transfer area, minimize contamination and environmental stress, and implement proper debounce.
  • Will the tactile feel change after reflow? Minor change is normal. Using high-temp materials and a correct reflow profile keeps variation within acceptable limits.
  • Can it support waterproof front panels? Use the IP67 top-sealed version with a sealed panel or silicone keypad to achieve high overall protection.
